Following his back-to-back hits in 2006, all eyes are now on the up-and-coming Vishal, whose Thamirabarani would hit the screens this Pongal.
The movie stars Vishal and newcomer Banu in lead roles and is directed by Hari.
Vishal, the sought-after star in Tamil cinema now, says, "I am doing a comical role for the first time. Although Thamirabarani is an action-packed entertainer, the first half is really lighthearted. Hari has a good flair for humour."
Prabhu and Nadhiya play prominent roles in the movie, being produced by Vijaya Productions.
"Vishal plays Bharani in the movie. The movie deals about events that occur in a strife-torn region in Thirunelveli," says Hari.
Hari was all praise for Vishal. He says that though Vishal started his career as an assistant director, he never interfered in the director's work. He does what the director wants from him.
"Vishal has not disappointed action-lovers either. There are half-a-dozen stunt sequences and all have come out good," he adds.
He equally appreciated Prabhu and Nadhiya. They have done their parts well. Working with such veterans is a relishing experience. They reproduce what a director wants good on the screen.
"A hilarious entertainer sure to attract film-buffs," he sums up. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for the movie.
The popular devotional song Karpoora Naiyagiyae Kanagavalli sung by veteran singer L R Eswari is being remixed for the film.
