Ace director K Balachander, who has played a lead role in ÂImayamum Sigaramum IrattaisuzhiÂ, which hit theatres today, has revealed the reason behind his decision to don the greasepaint for another director.
ÂThis is the first time I have worked for another filmmaker. It is because director Thamira completely convinced me about the script and the character I was going to play. This made me to say yes to him, says the mentor of Superstars Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
Describing Thamira as a man of confidence, Balachander says: ÂI know him for a long time since Thamira apprenticed under me for more than eight years. ÂImayamum Sigaramum Irattaisuzhi will establish him as a talented filmmaker.Â
On his co-star in the film Bharathiraja, who is another popular director, Balachander says, ÂBharathi joined the bandwagon only because the premise impressed him. We both did what Thamira wanted from us.Â
