Till a few months back, the mere mention of Thaman's name reminded one of the mass films like 'Sarrainodu', 'Winner', 'Jawaan', 'Goutham Nanda', and 'Dictator'. Not any more. From the aforementioned films to unlikely musicals like 'Mahanubhavudu', 'Bhaagamathie', 'Tholi Prema', and 'Chal Mohana Ranga', it's a far cry.

In a span of less than a month, Thaman has been mentioned in congratulatory tones with respect to the background music for 'Bhaagamathie' and 'Tholi Prema', not to forget the film's songs, too.

'Mandara' ('Bhaagamathie'), 'Allasani Vaari' and 'Ninnila' ('Tholi Prema') and 'Oka Nuvvu Oka Nenu ('Gayatri') are some of the most-acclaimed melodies in recent times. And three of these have been rendered to a scintillating effect by Shreya Ghosal.

For once, Thaman's 'adrenaline music' for action movies is not being talked about. The music director had always wanted to secure a place for himself in the comity of romances. Of late, he is getting what he always pined for!
