Thalapathy Vijay after enjoying great success as a hero for the past twenty five years is on a high in recent years delivering blockbusters at regular intervals in the form of 'Thuppakki', 'Kaththi', 'Theri' and 'Mersal' the last of which is said to be nearing the 200 Crore collection mark around the globe.

Director Vijay Milton who has worked with Vijay as a cinematographer in 'Priyamudan', 'Nenjinile' and 'Nilave Vaa' was very close to him at that time and the two shared a great bonding. Vijay Milton has revealed in an interview that Vijay confided with him that his dream is to become a director and that too he had fixed the year 2000 for making his debut.

But as destiny would have it, he instead became one of the premier mass heroes of Tamil cinema and though his position today is one to envy with the Thalapathy has an unfulfilled dream. Looks like in the future Vijay will 'Mersal' his fans behind the camera too as a director.
