Social media recently saw Tamil star Vijay trending when the actor took part in the Green India Challenge after being nominated for the same by Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu.

Vijay posted pictures of himself planting a tree sapling at his home in Neelankarai in Chennai. Mahesh Babu had earlier posted a video of himself planting a sapling along with a caption that read, "There couldn't be a better way to celebrate my birthday #GreenIndiaChallenge I pass this on to @tarak9999, @actorvijay & @shrutihaasan. Let the chain continue and transcend boundaries I request all of you to support the cause. One step towards a greener world!" The Green India Challenge apparently requires people to plant tree saplings at their home or at a public space to make the country safer to live in. Even as Vijay continues to trend on social media after taking up the challenge, a childhood picture of the actor holding his sister has been going viral.

On the professional front, Vijay is looking forward to the release of Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie stars Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist and Malavika Mohanan as the female lead. Shanthanu, Arjun Das, and Andrea will also be playing significant roles in the film. Bankrolled by Xavier Britto under the XB creaters banner, Master is expected to release as soon as the nationwide lockdown is entirely lifted.
