Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu, which was released on January 11, opened to a positive response from the audience. Also, the family entertainer is doing exceptionally well at the box office. It recorded a monstrous worldwide gross among the other pongal releases including Ajith's Thunivu.

While there were many reports being speculated on the internet regarding the film's box office business, the movie makers today took to their social media page to officially reveal the collection of Varisu with a mass poster. According to the production house Sri Venkateswara Creations, the Thalapathy Vijay starrer has minted Rs 150 crore across the globe including the gross of Telugu and Hindi dubbed versions.

Varisu directed by Vamshi Paidipally features Vijay, Rashmika, Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, Prakash Raj, SJ Suryah, Jayasudha, Shaam, Srikanth, Sangeetha, Samuyuktha and others. Thaman scored music for the film with cinematography by Karthik Palani and editing by Praveen KL.

The team conducted a press meet in Chennai today to thank the media and the public for making Varisu a grand success. On the work front, Vijay has already started working on director Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Thalapathy 67' which has music by Anirudh. Produced by Seven Screen Studio, the crew has wrapped up the first schedule just before the Pongal and the next schedule will kickstart soon in Kashmir.
