We all know that Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu and Ajith Kumar's Thunivu locked horns on January 11. The mighty Pongal clash at the box office is going neck to neck as Thunivu leads the gross in Tamil Nadu while Varisu leads the gross at the Indian level and the international level.

Now, we have the super-hot collection report of Varisu and Thunivu in the first two days. On January 11 & 12, Thunivu collected around Rs 33 crore in Tamil Nadu and Rs 66 crore across the globe. The movie grossed Rs 1.12 crore on Day 1 and 1.07 crore on Day 2 in Chennai city alone. Overall, Thunivu has minted Rs 95 crores at the box office.

On the other hand, Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu grossed around Rs 30 crore in Tamil Nadu and Rs 68 crore worldwide in the first two days (Jan 11, 12). The Chennai city breakdown of Varisu: Day 1 - Rs 1.10 crore and Day 2 - Rs 1.06 crore. All around, the family entertainer has collected Rs 98 crores at the box office.

Both 'Varisu' and 'Thunivu' have received mixed reviews from critics but the films have satisfied the fans and audience. People are crowding the cinema halls to witness the vintage charisma of Thalapathy and long-lost swag of Ajith Kumar after a long time.
