Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' costarring Rashmika Mandanna is slated for Pongal 2023 release amidst huge expectations from fans and the trade. Since Ajith Kumar's 'Varisu' is also releasing on the same date both the stars' fans are gearing up for a rivalry fest as well on social media.

Meanwhile as reported by us earlier an issue arose after a section of the Telugu producers announcing that only straight Telugu films should be released on festival dates. This gave rise to speculations that the Telugu version of 'Varisu' titled 'Vaarasudu' would not be allowed to release simultatneously in the Telugu states.

It has been reported that all decks have been cleared for the release of 'Vaarasudu' and the film will be a Sankranti treat for fans. Dil Raju has provided proof that the film is a bilingual that has sixty percent participation of Tollywood cast and crew members. 'Vaarisu'/'Vaarasudu' is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju with Thaman scoring the music. The principal cast comprises of Vijay, Rashmika, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Srikanth, Shaam, Jayasudha, Khusbhu, Meena, Sangeetha, Samyuktha with Yogi Babu and S.J. Suryah.
