The audio launch of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Master' was held at the Leela Palace Hotel in Chennai which was telecast as live on Sun TV from 6.30pm. However, the event started a couple of hours before and now controversial news is doing the rounds on several leading news channels.
It has been said that Vijay in his speech had said that laws should be written keeping the people and their needs in mind and should not be first written and then imposed on them. Social media became abuzz that Vijay was referring to the CAA, and other recent citizenship acts that has come into force. The particular statement was not seen anywhere in the telecast of Vijay's speech and one section of the media is claiming that it was edited.
Vijay steered clear of any controversies jokingly stating that to speak the truth sometimes one has to keep silent and whether he made the dig at the ruling governments or not is under contention.

He didn't say all this. Media should not be so greedy to defame a person. #Master @actorvijay pic.twitter.com/TBarjqv1jF
