Earlier this year, Vijay had posted a selfie on Twitter that he had taken with thousands of his fans who had gathered in Neyveli during the shoot of the actor’s upcoming movie, Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. So far, the tweet has garnered more than 135k retweets (excluding quoted tweets) and 357k likes, thus becoming the most retweeted post for an actor in India. Vijay achieved the milestone last year as well, when the first look of his movie ‘Bigil,’ directed by Atlee, became the most retweeted post of 2019 in India. Twitter’s official handle acknowledged the same by the end of the year. In the viral selfie from clicked in Neyveli, Vijay had climbed on to the top of the bus that was parked near the shooting spot and captured the picture with his enthusiastic fans.
On the professional front, Vijay is currently looking forward to the release of Master, which is expected to hit the screens across the world as soon as the pandemic situation comes under control and the nationwide lockdown is fully lifted. Bankrolled by Xavier Britto under the XB creaters banner, Master stars Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist and Malavika Mohanan as the female lead. Shanthanu, Arjun Das, and Andrea will also be playing significant roles in the film.
