Thalapathy Vijay is one of the leading men in South Indian cinema who has a large fan base consisting of age groups between toddlers to senior citizens. Recently along with his wife Sangeetha he attended the wedding reception of his fan club organizer Bussy Anand's daughter in Pondicherry. Thousands of fans gathered outside the hall and inside too there was a huge scramble as hundreds rushed towards Vijay to show them their affection which resulted in the mass hero getting bruised and also damage occurred to the furniture in the hall.

The incident has prompted Vijay to take the strong decision that henceforth he would not be attending weddings but instead invite the bride and groom to his house to wish them personally. According to sources in the Vijay camp the intention is not to inconvenience fans and also to avoid unnecessary drama in an event which is meant for those involved to enjoy.

Thalapathy Vijay's next movie is 'Sarkar' directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sun Pictures which hits the screens worldwide on Diwali 2018. The A.R. Rahman musical has Vijay and Keerthy Suresh as the lead pair while Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, Premkumar, Pazha Karuppaiah and Radha Ravi are in the cast.
