Thalapathy Vijay's 'Sarkar' directed by A.R. Murugadoss tackled the core issue of how one man's vote is important and slammed those political parties that indulged in imposter voting. The film threw more light on section 49 P of the constitution which directs how a person whose vote is stolen can still register his vote.
The Election Commission of India for the first time has released an advertisement that explains the section 49P and how citizens need not worry if their vote is misused. Documents such as passports, driving license, pan card, aadhaar card, bank pass book, pension book, MGNREGA and NPR SMART CARD will be valid.
Director A. R. Murugadoss has taken to twitter stating "Glad, election commission is bringing awareness on #49p #Sarkar".
