Is this the reason why Thalapathy Vijay avoided media interviews for 10 years?

As the big day for Thalapathy Vijay's 'Beast' movie release is nearing with barely a week to go the hype is growing day by day. Sun TV has managed the near impossible of getting Vijay himself for a one on one interview anchored by the witty 'Beast' director Nelson himself.

Earlier promos of the Vijay-Nelson interview revealed that there are controversial questions that the top hero has fielded. For example Nelson asked Vijay why he chose to ride a bicycle to cast his vote in the 2021 General Elections when he had four luxury cars at home.

The latest promo has Nelson asking Vijay why he avoided press meets and interviews for the past ten years. The clip gets muted with Vijay saying that an incident happened ten or eleven years back. Now the curiosity of netizens is to what that incident was that forced him to take the decision.

For starters during the promotional press meet of 'Villu' directed by Prabhu Deva when Vijay was speaking to the media there were disturbances in the hall with sounds of carpentry going on. After some time the usually calm Vijay lost his cool and shouted out to stop disturbing him.

However in 2013 Vijay did appear on Sun TV for an interaction with the 'Thalaivaa' cast and crew of Amala Paul, GVP and Vijay and a live audience also asked questions to him. It is common knowledge that the title of the film and its tagline Time To Lead irked the then chief minister of Tamil Nadu the late Jayalalitha whose government's allegedly caused several roadblocks for the film's smooth release. The film hit the screens much later than the scheduled date causing financial losses to the producer.

What exactly is the reason for Vijay staying away from the media and especially televised interviews will be known on April 10th night when he opens up about it to director Nelson.
