Thalapathy Vijay's most recent film 'Varisu' was directed by popular Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally. The family entertainer costarring Rashmika Mandanna got mixed reviews but still went on to score the magical rupees 300 Crores mark at the worldwide box office, according to producer Dil Raju.
Now the hot news from Tollywood is that Vijay recently listened to a script from popular Telugu commercial director Gopichand Malineni and like it. He reportedly has liked the narration and gave a positve signal instantly.
Gopichand Malineni is famous for his out and out commercial masala movies and he has given two back to back blockuster hits 'Krack' starring Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan and 'Veera Simha Reddy' starring NTR Balakrishna and Shruti Haasan. It is still not clear whether this project will be 'Thalapathy 69' or 'Thalapathy 70'. It is already more or less confirmed that Atlee will be helming 'Thalapathy 68' which is likely to be produced by Sun Pictures or Raaj Kamal Films International.
Thalapathy Vijay is currently shooting for 'Leo' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and costarring Trisha Krishnan with an ensemble cast of pan Indian actors. The filming is expected to wrap by May end this year and the release date has been announced as October 19th, 2023.
