Movie theaters have remained shut for the past four months due to the coronavirus pandemic and film buffs all over India have to settle for television and OTT to quench their entertainment thirst. Since most television serials have been stopped due to the lockdown the demand for movies has risen multifold.
Meanwhile, the data has been released that during the COVID 19 lockdown Thalapathy Vijay's movies have been the most viewed on television than any other star in Indian cinema. His films have gotten 117.9 million impressions and interestingly next to him is another Tamil actor Raghava Lawrence with 76.2 million.
Superstar Rajinikanth is at number three with his films garnering 65.8 million views followed by Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar with 58.8 million and Prabhas at fifth with 56.9million.
Vijay's upcoming movie 'Master' directed by Lokesh Kangaraj is one of the most expected films of the year that has music by Anirudh and Vijay Sethupathi playing the villain. Raghav Lawrence is gearing up to shoot 'Chandramukhi 2' directed by P. Vasu and produced by Sun Pictures.
Superstar Rajinikanth has already completed fifty percent shooting for his next movie 'Annathe' directed by Siruthai Siva and costarring Khusbhu, Meena, Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh.
