Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' has officially joined the Rs.10 crore club in Chennai Box office with just two weekends. This is a remarkable feat and 'Mersal' becomes only the sixth movie in the history to collect Rs.10 crores in Chennai Box office.  The film completed its second successful weekend in theaters across Chennai. Despite many new releases. the number of screens for 'Mersal' which released on October 18 for the Diwali festival weekend was not reduced.

Moreover in its second weekend too (October 27 to 29), 'Mersal' has collected more than One crore and 65 lakhs (Rs.1,65,05,640)  The Atlee directed flick had 442 shows across 20 screens in this weekend. The total collection made by the film since it is released date has crossed Rs.10 crores (Rs.10,88,43,468). With this the film has already been declared a 'Hit' in Chennai. 

'Mersal' joins  'Baahubali 2', 'Kabali' and 'Vivegam' in the elite list of films that have collected over Rs.10 crores in Chennai box office within a few weeks.
