Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' has taken an earth shattering opening on the festival Diwali day yesterday (18/10/2017) and the box office receipts are overwhelming and career best for the mass hero.

'Mersal' Tamil Nadu first day collections is around 23 crores which is the highest ever beating  the record held by 'Kabali' which grossed 20 Crores.  Chennai City took 1.52 Crores which is also the highest and Chengalput has brought in 6 Crores, Coimbatore - 3.75 Crores, North and South Arcot 3.2 Crores and the rest from the remaining teriitories.

In the other states Kerala has brought in a magnificent 6.1 Crores, Karnataka around 4 Crores and the rest of India 1.35 Crores.  The World Wide First day collections is estimated to be around 45 plus Crores which is the second best after Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Kabali'.  Way to go as more records are certain to fall as the week progresses and we will bring it to you the instant we have them.
