ARRI cameras serving the entertainment world since 1917 has just released their showreel in which our own Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' is featured alongside 2017s biggest blockbusters like 'Avengers: Infinity War', 'The Shape of Water', 'Blade Runner 2049', 'Black Panther' and 'The Darkest Hour' among other films.  'Padmavat' and 'Tiger Zinda Hai' are the two other Indian films featured.

“We look at the material and think – ‘What cool things they do!’” says Henning Rädlein, the showreel’s producer, “This is us paying tribute to the artistic work of the cinematographers”.  This is a big shout out to cinematographer G.K. Vishnu who cranked the camera for 'Mersal' directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Studios.

Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' continues to win big in international awards and now this rare honor from ARRI and it needless to say that it was a huge blockbuster when released for Diwali 2017.  The film had music score by A.R. Rahman and costars Kajal Agarwal, Nithya Menen, Samantha, Vadivelu, Sathyaraj and S.J. Surya.
