Thalapathy Vijay's released in 2017 was a grand Diwali treat for fans that had everything they could ask for, a killer A.R. Rahman score, a commercial story and screenplay by Atlee and Vijayendra Prasad, a great supporting cast and Thalapathy Vijay in three different roles. However certain sections of the media have constantly maintained that the film is a flop and forced the production house to shut down.
Murali Ramaswamy the son of the legendary producer the late Ramanarayanan and the owner of Sri Thenanadal Studios has opened up for the first time about 'Mersal'. In an interview with a leading weekly, he has reiterated that the project was a profitable one. At the same time, he also shared that it was a huge learning curve for him and taught him how a producer should control the budget and not let it become a burden later.
Murali Ramasamy also shared that he and Vijay are in constant touch and even ten days back the mass hero called him and told him that they would work together in the future. He said that the talks would begin once Vijay finishes his 'Thalapathy 65' produced by Sun Pictures.
