Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Mersal’ has stirred a controversy with one of its dialogue speaking about the Goods and Services Tax. On one hand though the dialog has been receiving positive reception, it is to be noted that many seem to not like it for criticizing the government.

After Tamilisai Soundararajan of BJP condemned the dialog and vouched to file a case if the makers dont lift it off from the movie, now central minister Pon Radhakrishnan who serves as a minister in centre's finance and shipping ministries has also joined the bandwagon against ‘Mersal’.

“Statements and messages contrary to the truth must be removed from ‘Mersal’. It is not that an actor shouldn’t enter politics but an actor shouldn’t wrongly use films for political mileage. The controverswial statements in ‘Mersal’ is not good for both cinema and politics,” the minister said.
