Even as Chennai is being lashed out by rain for more than a week now, the rain of collections for Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' showed no sign of stopping. The film which has been declared a blockbuster already has completed its third successful weekend in Chennai Box office.

In its third weekend (November 3 to 5).'Mersal' has been retained in 19 screens across the city and has had 221 shows screened. This despite a slew of new Tamil releases. The film has had 85% occupancy on an average and has collected Rs.61,36,754 in this weekend.

The total collection made by 'Mersal' since its release date (October 18) has crossed the phenomenal Rs.12 crores (Rs.12,13,33,677). 'Mersal' has also become the highest grosser for Vijay in Chennai breaking the previous record set by 'Theri'.
