The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) was held in Bucheon city recently where films from the entire world was screened.  Sri Thenandal Studios head Hema Rukmani has shared that Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' was chosen, screened and appreciated under the Best of Asian Cinema category.   Hema had also participated in a quality discussion among other panelists from all parts of the globe.

It may be recalled that Vijay has also been nominated under the Best Actor and the Best International Actor categories in the International Achievement Recogniton Awards (IARA) that will be held on September 22nd at Canary Warf, London. 'Mersal' a worldwide blockbuster directed by Atlee had Vijay in triple roles costarring Nithya Menen, Kajal Agarwal, Samantha, Vadivelu and S.J. Suriya.  Music is by A.R. Rahman, cinematography by G.K. Vishnu, production design by T. Muthuraj and editing by Ruben.
