There are a lot of movies to look forward to this year, and Rajinikanth's Darbar, Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, Vijay's Master, Ajith's Valimai, and Suriya's Soorarai Pottru are just a few among them.

Vijay's Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, could arguably be the most anticipated movie of the year, and it has been speculated for a long time that the movie is likely to release on April 9. While it is still premature to discuss the release of Ajith's Valimai or Kamal's Indian 2, a recent report suggests that Suriya's upcoming movie Soorari Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad, might be releasing the same day as Master. Karthi's Kaithi, directed by Lokesh, released on October 25, 2019, the same day as Vijay's Bigil, directed by Atlee. Both the movies emerged as blockbusters at the box office.

Master also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Arjun Das, Shanthanu, and Andrea, while Soorarai Pottru features Jackie Shroff, Karunas, Paresh Rawal and Aparna Balamurali in important roles.
