On Saturday morning the Chennai city police control room received a call from an unknown person who informed that a bomb had been placed in Thalapathy Vijay's house and it would explode soon. Police rushed to the Saligramam and the ECR houses of Vijay and conducted a search but did not find any explosives.
On further investigations, the police have reportedly traced and arrested Arun alias Manikandan belonging to Manali in Chennai in connection with bomb threat call made regarding Vijay. Arun was allegedly disappointed about not getting a fan club ticket to Vijay's Diwali release 'Bigil' and in an intoxicated state had made the call without thinking about the consequences. He had, in fact, said in the call that he will plant a bomb at the actor's Foreshore Estate residence while Vijay does not have a house there. A case has been registered.
