Thalapathy Vijay, the leading actor in Indian cinema, is also a great philanthropist. He brought his fan clubs together to form the nonprofit organisation named “Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam,” which he uses to conduct welfare endeavours. Earlier, it was announced that he will honour the top scorers in the 10th and 12th standard.
Today, Thalapathy Vijay organised a lavish event in Chennai to felicitate the top-scoring students from all the 234 constituencies of Tamil Nadu. The actor had arranged transport, food & stay for all the students and their families. Also, the first, second and third mark scorers will be awarded a prize amount of Rs 25,000, 15,000 and 10,000 respectively.
Thalapathy Vijay generously invested approximately two crore rupees to organise the event for students. He allocated 40 lakhs for the rent of the venue and covered the expenses for breakfast, lunch & accommodation for students and their parents coming from outside of Chennai. This is the first time an actor spent crores to arrange an honorary event for the students.
