Gautham Menon is a celebrated filmmaker in Tamil cinema, whom a lot of aspiring makers look up to. Earlier, he was supposed to direct Thalapathy Vijay in 'Yohan Adhyayam Ondru' in the early 2010s but the project didn't take off due to some reasons. The movie buffs have always regretted that the dream combo didn't happen.
Now, the latest update is that Gautham Menon is likely to work with Thalapathy Vijay on an upcoming project. He is now taking part in interviews ahead of the release of his upcoming film 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu'. The director revealed that he was asked to act alongside Vijay in 'Thalapathy 67'.
When the interviewer asked about working with youngsters, Gautham Menon said, "Lokesh asked me to act in Vikram but things didn't work out. Now, he has given me a call to act in his next film (Thalapathy 67) also. I was supposed to do the role which Chemban Vinod did in Vikram." He further added, "I don't know whether I'll be in his next film. He has given me a call and the word is out."
The interviewer said that he should do it as it would give a mental completion of the fact that 'Yohan' didn't get made. Gautham responded, "I don't know about that. I love to do a film with Vijay. Lokesh has given me a call. He said he will talk to me about it further on. So, I'm hoping he won't forget me and will call me again." If everything goes well, we can witness GVM and Vijay sharing screen space in Thalapathy 67.
