Thalapathy Vijay fans have jumped into action during most of the calamities that have struck Tamil Nadu to provide relief measures to those in need. During the first wave of the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020 and now in the second wave too the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam has been actively involved in social services providing food and other amenities to the unfortunate section of the society.

The Pudukottai Thalapathy Vijay fans have gone one step further and presented gold coins to frontline COVID 19 warriors who include doctors, nurses, sanitary workers, Ambulance drivers, and CT scan technicians.

As part of the celebrations of Vijay's birthday which falls on June 22nd, the VMI members have also planned to provide free food to the needy throughout the month in many parts of Tamil Nadu as well.
