Vijay's surprising decision on Rolls Royce issue

The Madras High Court recently dismissed a writ petition filed by Kollywood star Vijay, who sought an exemption of Entry Tax for his Rolls Royce Ghost car he had imported in 2012 from England. The court also imposed a fine of Rs. 1 lakh to be paid by him to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
Not long after the controversy created a stir on social media, Vijay has decided to re-appeal to counter the statements made by the Madras High Court Judge. Claiming that the counter was not being made in order to avoid the fine or tax exemption, Vijay's lawyer S Kumaresan, in a statement to media, said, We are filing an appeal against some of the points in the order as there is a lot of talk going around that the issue is about tax evasion and is affecting Vijay's name.
The High Court judge had criticized Vijay for not disclosing even his profession or occupation in his affidavit. He has imported a prestigious costly car from England but unfortunately, not paid entry tax as per the statutes. He has filed a writ petition to avoid payment of tax. The petitioner, who is a reputed cine actor, is expected to pay the tax promptly and punctually, the judge had said.
