The news of Thalapathy Vijay's case against 11 people, including his mother and father, came for a hearing in Madras High Court causing a huge sensation in Kollywood circles. Several months back Vijay's father the veteran director SA Chandrasekhar had started a political party called the All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. The names of SA Chandrasekhar as general secretary, Shoba Chandrasekhar as treasurer, and Padmanabhan as the leader were filed with the Election Commission of India.
Vijay's close circle at the time let out that the mass hero did not like his fan clubs to be turned into a political party. Hence he filed a case seeking a ban on the use of his name, photo, etc by the eleven defendants including his parents.
In the hearing on Friday, Chandrasekhar filed a reply petition on behalf of himself and his wife Shobha. Since no one from Vijay's side appeared the judge adjourned the case to September 27.
