A plagiarism case was levied against director Atlee for his upcoming movie, Bigil, after a director moved the Madras High Court claiming copyright over the movie's script.

The recent news is that the court has adjourned the case without specifying the date of judgement. The court has asked director KP Selva to submit the relevant documents justifying his claim. "For many years I have been discussing the story with many producers. However, the makers of Bigil has produced the movie completely resembling my script, which amounts to infringement of my copyright over the script," the director reportedly said. Meanwhile, another report mentions that Atlee had written the script for Bigil in July 2018 while director KP Selva had penned his script in October 2018.

Several of Vijay's movies, including Thuppakki, Thalaivaa, Mersal, and Sarkar, have faced legal issues in the past.
