Thalapathy Vijay - Gautham Menon combo to happen finally? - Red hot updates

Gautham Vasudev Menon is one of the few directors who have been commercially successful and critically acclaimed as well. After several letdowns, the renowned filmmaker made a great comeback with his recent release 'Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu' starring Simbu and Siddhi Idnani.

Meanwhile, GVM revealed in an interview before VTK release that director Lokesh Kanagaraj approached him to play a pivotal role in his next project 'Thalapathy 67' starring Vijay and Trisha. Recently, Gautham confirmed that he accepted the role in a recent fans meet after the VTK release. As per sources, he has allocated over 45 days' call-sheet for the much-awaited movie.

It is worth mentioning that Lokesh asked GVM to play the role played by Chemban Vinod in 'Vikram' but the director couldn't do it due to date issues. Reportedly, 'Varisu' should have been Vijay and GVM's first film together but he couldn't give a huge chunk of dates due to the VTK shoot. With that being said, we will witness them both together for the first time on screen in 'Thalapathy 67'.
