Thalapathy Vijay early today flew to Vizag for a twenty day shooting schedule of his new movie 'Varisu' directed by Vamshi Paidipally in which Rashmika Mandanna plays his pair. The film produced by Dil Raju is expected to wrap up by September this year and is slated for release on Pongal 2022.
Vijay is reuniting with his 'Master' blockbuster hit director Lokesh Kangaraj for 'Thalapathy 67' produced by Seven Screen Studios. The Anirudh musical that is said to be a gangster flick will go on floors by year end. In the meantime a rumour started floating on social media that Vijay has okayed a new project 'Thalapathy 67' that will be directed by Cibi Chakravarthy. The young filmmaker gained prominence by creating the "Kutty Story" song video in 'Master' which immediately fetched him the chance to direct Sivakarthikeyan's 'Don' which is one of the years biggest blockbuster hits.
Cibi is close to Vijay as he has worked as assistant director in 'Mersal' and the photos of the duo are viral on the internet. Cibi has denied the news stating that he has not completed his next script and only after that he will decide the hero. He however added that it is his dream to direct Thalapathy and he hopes someday it comes true.
