Thalapathy Vijay is one mega star whose future films that havent even gone on floors make as much noise in the film industry as his current one. His new film 'Varisu' directed by Vamshi Paidipally and costarring Rashmika Mandanna is releasing worldwide in theaters for Pongal 2023 (Mostly January 12th).

Meanwhile Vijay's next 'Thalapathy 67' directed by Lokesh Kangaraj and produced by Seven Screen Studios will go on floors in January and is said to be an intense gangster action drama with an ensemble cast that includes Kamal Haasan, Sanjay Dutt and Trisha among others.

Now the hottest topic in Kollywood is 'Thalapathy 68' and reliable sources say that it is already confirmed with regards to who will direct and produce. Accordingly a couple of days earlier Vijay, Atlee and Sun Pictures owner Kalanidhi Maran met and finalised the project.

Though Atlee was the favorite to direct Vijay after his 'Jawan' starring Shah Rukh Khan the involvement of Sun Pictures has come as a surprise. First it was said that Sri Thenandal Studios will bankroll the project and later AGS Entertainment. Both the production houses collaborated with Vijay and Atlee in 'Mersal' and 'Bigil' respectively.

Now coming to the red hot upates on 'Thalapathy 68', Atlee whose wife Priya is pregnant with their first child has been offered a staggering rupees fifty crores as remuneration for the project. This makes him the highest paid director in Tamil cinema. It is said that Vijay has agreed to do the film for rupees one hundred and fifty crores salary which is also the highest in his career and one of the highest in Indian cinema.

With 200 Crores already paid to the hero and director, Sun Pictures has set aside rupees two hundred crores for 'Thalapathy 68'. The shooting is expected to start in the latter part of 2023 after Vijay completes 'Thalapathy 67' and Atlee 'Jawan'. This will be the fourth collaboration from Vijay and Atlee after 'Theri', 'Mersal' and 'Bigil'. More updates on this massive project is expected soon. Stay tuned.
