We broke the news first to you that Thalapathy Vijay is likely to act in a new movie directed by Gopichand Malineni of 'Krack' and 'Veera Simha Reddy' fame. If this materializes then it will be the second Telugu/Tamil bilingual for Vijay after 'Varisu' directed by Vashmi and produced by Dil Raju. Now there are more details emerging from uncofirmed sources that top Telugu production house Mythri Movie Makers and legendary South Indian producer R.B. Choudhary will be jointly bankrolling 'Thalapathy 68' or 'Thalapathy 69' whichever is applicable. Choudhary's son actor Jithan Ramesh in a recent interview confirmed that Vijay's next film after 'Leo' is for his home banner further substantiating the buzz.
It is said that Atlee is super busy with the final phase of shooting and release of Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' on June 2nd. Hence he will start preproduction for his Vijay project only in mid July and realistically the project can only go on floors in early 2024.
On the other hand Vijay will be wrapping up Lokesh Kanagaraj's 'Leo' by May end or mid June. He will then have to wait almost for six months to start the Atlee project. Apparently there is a chance of the Gopichand Malineni project being a quickie mass family entertainer that could go on floors in mid 2023 and be completed by year end.
We will have to wait and watch whether the scheme of things in Vijay's lineup will go as mentioned above or he opts to complete 'Thalapathy 68' with Atlee and Sun Pictures and then move on to his next 'Thalapathy 69'.
