Thalapathy Vijay is fully focussed on his ongoing project 'Varisu' directed by Vamshi Paidipally and costarring Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Recently an emotional scene was shot of Sarathkumar being rushed to a hospital by Vijay with Prabhu playing the role of the doctor in charge.

Vijay fans are giving equal if not more importance to Vijay's next movie 'Thalapathy '67' directed by Lokesh Kangaraj and produced by Seven Screen Studios. It was reported that talks are on with Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sanjay Dutt and Action King Arjun for three of the villains. It is now said that Gautham Vasudev Menon is likely to play one of the antagonists in 'Thalapathy 67'. If this happens then it will be the first time that Vijay and GVM will be sharing the screenspace much like the other villains too.

It is worth mentioning that in the early 2010s a film 'Yohan : Adhyayam Ondru' was announced starring Vijay and directed by Gautham Menon but the project was unfortunately shelved due to various reasons. Hopefully fans of both Vijay and GVM can seek solace by seeing them acting together if all goes well.
