As reported first by us, the shooting of Vijay's 'Thalapathy 67' began on Monday, January 2nd in Chennai. Though the hero himself did not participate in the shoot it is said that shots were canned by director Lokesh Kanagaraj featuring Mysskin and Gautham Vasudev Menon who play antagonist roles.It is also said that Vijay will join the sets very soon.

The hot news in Kollywood is that Lokesh Kanagaraj after the release his blockbuster hit 'Vikram starring Kamal Haasan was involved in hectic pre-production work for 'Thalapathy 67' and is well prepared with the script. The sources say that he has decided to shoot the film continuously with short breaks and wrap it up by May this year. If all goes as planned then the much awaited film may well release on the festive dates of Ayudha Puja or Diwali this year itself.

It is now more or less confirmed that Vijay fans are going to get a double treat this year as the mass hero's 'Varisu' co starring Rashmika Mandanna is releasing on January 12th worldwide. They just have to wait a maximum of eight or nine months to watch 'Thalapathy 67' as well.

'Thalapathy 67' is produced by Seven Screen Studios with Anirudh scoring the music. It is whispered that Suriya is likely to appear as the main antagonist Rolex from 'Vikram' and will lock horns with Vijay as part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun,and Nivin Pauli are also the other big names attached while Trisha is said to be pairing with Vijay. All the official announcements regarding this project are expected soon after the release of 'Varisu'.
