The most anticipated Tamil film in recent times 'Thalapathy 67' will go on floors on December 5th this year. The film starring Thalapathy Vijay is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj who is fresh from delivering the mammoth blockbuster hit 'Vikram' starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya among others.

Though nothing is official yet there have been reports that 'Thaapathy 67' will have music by Anirudh and is produced by Seven Screen Studios the same team that made 'Master' with Vijay. There have also been uncofirmed updates that Nivin Pauly, Sanjay Dutt, Vishal, Mansoor Ali Khan, Gautham Vasudev Menon and others are in talks for the antagonists characters.

Now the latest hot buzz that has hit Kollywood like a storm is that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan has been approached by Lokesh Kanagaraj to play a powerful character in 'Thalapathy 67'. It is well known that Kamal developed a great bonding with Lokesh during the making of 'Vikram' and he is also very close to Vijay as well. Hence there is every likelihood of the legend giving his nod. If this turns out to be true then fans will get to see the two biggest superstars of the era sharing screenspace for the first time ever.

Kamal is currently hosting 'Bigg Boss Tamil 6' while simultaneously acting in Shankar's 'Indian 2' as well. He will soon begin shooting for a new actioner 'KH233' directed by H. Vinoth and costarring Vijay Sethupathi. His next after that 'KH234' will be directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Red Giant Movies.

Vijay on the other hand has completed the shooting for his family entertainer 'Varisu' directed by Vamshi Paidipally and costarring Rashmika Mandanna. The film produced by Dil Raju is slated for release in Tamil and Telugu on January 12th ahead of the Pongal 2023 holidays.
