Thalapathy Vijay and Nadana Puyal Prabhu Deva have had a long association in their careers over the past three decades. The latter has choreographed several hit songs of the former in his formative years.
Prabhu Deva's first Tamil film as director was Thalapathy Vijay's 'Pokkiri' released in 2007 which is hailed as one of the biggest blockbuster hits in Tamil. A couple of years later the duo once again worked together in 'Villu' which unfortunately bombed at the box office. Vijay made a special appearance in the song "Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita" in Akshay Kumar's 'Rowdy Rathore' obliging to Prabhu Deva who directed the film.
Vijay after completing 'Beast' will move on to 'Thalapathy 66' directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Dil Raju which is a Tamil/Telugu bilingual. It is said that Vijay has requested Prabhu Deva to choreograph a couple of songs in the film for him since he wanted his Telugu debut to be impressive in every aspect. It is worth mentioning that the "Rowdy Baby" song from 'Maari 2' starring Dhanush and Sai Pallavi was choreographed by PD and has become a monster hit on YouTube breaking all previous records.
Sources say the formalities for Prabhu Deva to join 'Thalapathy 66' is being worked around as he is pretty busy with his acting assignments starring a more than half a dozen films. The official announcement is awaited.
Prabhu Deva's upcoming films include 'Pon Manickavel' and 'Bhagheera' and has signed a couple of new movies which will be announced soon.
