Thalapathy Vijay has joined hands with Telugu director Vamsi Padipally for the first time for a bilingual film. The film has Rashmika Mandanna of Pushpa fame playing the leady lady. The film kick-started with a pooja recently and the latest super update about the first schedule has reached us.

The initial shooting of 'Thalapathy 66' will be happening in Chennai for a week, and a song featuring Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna has been reported planned to be shot first. A film city in Chennai ECR has been locked for the 'Thalapathy 66' shoot, and a huge set has been erected in the film city.

As of now, Sarathkumar has joined the cast of this film. The other cast is expected to be revealed soon by the team. Karthick Palani will be cranking the camera and Lyricist Vivek has also been added to the squad to pen the lyrics and assist the team as a dialogue and extra screenplay writer.

The music is composed by S. Thaman in his first collaboration with Vijay and is produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations. The shoot of this film is expected to be completed by August and the film will release for Diwali this year.
