Thalapathy Vijay after delivering the monster hit 'Master' costarring Vijay Sethupathi completed a three-week first schedule of his new movie 'Thalapathy 65' in Georgia, USA, and a few weeks back. The team was planning to shoot the next schedule of the film in sets of a grand mall that has been specially erected in Chennai. But the COVID 19-second wave has caused an indefinite delay.

Coming to the cast of 'Thalapathy 65', so far only the leading lady Pooja Hegde has been officially announced while VTV Ganesh and Aparna Das are also said to be a part of it. However we broke the news much much earlier that the loveable comedy hero Yogi Babu is very much part of the film.

Now Yogi Babu himself has confirmed his involvement in 'Thalapathy 65' to a fan who literally begged him to give an update. Yogi Babu also had a meaty role almost as a leading man opposite Nayanthara in director Nelson Dilipkumar's debut movie 'Kolamavu Kokila' and also in his upcoming 'Doctor' starring Sivakarthikeyan. This will be the director and actor's third-time collaboration.

It is no secret that Yogi Babu is the busiest star in Kollywood currently starring in over a dozen films as a hero as well as a comedian and more filmmakers vying to get him on board their proposed films.

'Thalapathy 65' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is produced by Sun Pictures has music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa. The shooting is expected to resume once the normalcy returns from the effect of coronavirus and a Pongal or Tamil New Years Day release in 2022 likely.
