Not only Thalapathy Vijay's mass fans but also theater owners in Tamil Nadu are eagerly awaiting the release of his next 'Master' which is expected to pull crowds back after the coronavirus pandemic. The film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and music by Anirudh Ravichander has the ensemble cast of Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun Das and Shantanu Bhagyaraj in the cast.
Meanwhile it was widely reported that Vijay's next movie 'Thalapathy 65' is set to be bankrolled by Sun Pictures and directed by A.R. Murugadoss and the project would have gone on floors in April itself if not for the COVID 19 lockdowns.
A buzz is rolling out in Kollywood that the producers after considering the current situation have asked for a salary cut from both the hero and reduction of the budget. It is a known fact that Vijay got rupees 80 Crores for 'Master' which was even revealed by the income tax department and he had signed the new project for 100 Crores.
It is said that Vijay had agreed to reduce twenty crores but the production house is insistent on a further cut and the hero has decided to opt for a new bankroller. The same sources have cited that Sri Thenandal Studios is ready to take over 'Thalapathy 65' if things didn't work out.
A word of caution is that this is not official news and could turn out to be mere speculation as neither Vijay's side nor sources in Sun were available for comment on this news. Lets wait how things turn out and there is a long time to go before normalcy returns to the world and only then things will be firmed up in the cinema field too.
