Thalapathy Vijay as promised infused new blood into the Tamil film industry by delivering 'Master' one of the all-time biggest blockbusters. The film is said to have collected in excess of 250 Crores rupees in spite of only fifty percent occupancy in the state and many markets overseas not even opening.

Unfortunately for the theater business the films that followed 'Master' have not succeeded in pulling the crowds and some films with good content also failed. It is said that the industry bigwigs have requested Vijay to do more films to aid them in the current situation since the livelihood of lakhs of people is affected.

It is said that Vijay has charted out a plan to make back-to-back films and accordingly 'Thalapathy 65' directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures will go on floors in a few weeks and release on Pongal 2022.

'Thalapathy 66' according to the same source will go on floors by the end of this year and release in Summer 2022. It is also said that Vijay will then shoot 'Thalapathy 67' sometime around April next year and try to release the film for Christmas 2022 or Pongal 2023.

Sri Thenandal Studios, AGS Entertainment, Seven Screen Studios, Lyca Productions and Vels Films International are said to be the big banners in talks with Vijay for the upcoming projects. Directors such as Sudha Kongara, Magizh Thirumeni, Lokesh Kanagaraj and others are likely to helm and official announcements could come by the end of the year.

Anyway, the Thalapathy Vijay fans who were disappointed that none of their loveable hero's films released in 2020 due to the pandemic are going to be well compensated with not one but three back to back films following the stupendous success of 'Master'
