Following the massive success of Bigil, Vijay is currently busy with the shoot of Master, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Meanwhile, rumours regarding the director of Vijay's next project, Thalapathy 65, has been doing the rounds, and a few directors, including Sudha Kongara, Arunraja Kamaraj, and Pradeep, are the top contenders, as of now.

However, a few recent reports suggest that Lokesh Kanagaraj will be teaming up with Vijay yet again for Thalapathy 65, following Master. The reports further add that Thalapathy 65 will be produced under the Dream Warrior Pictures banner and that Sam CS has been roped in to compose the music of the film. When we got in touch with our sources regarding the same, we were informed that the news is not true or authentic. Lokesh is likely to work on the script of the sequel of Kaithi next and the chances of him collaborating with Vijay for Thalapathy 65 are minimum.

Meanwhile, Vijay and Lokesh are busy with work on Master, that also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea, and Arjun Das, among others. Produced by Xavier Britto of XB Film Creators, Master will have music composed by Anirudh. Touted to be an action thriller, Master is slated to release worldwide in April 2020.
