Lokesh Kangaraj is currently the hottest young filmmaker in Kollywood having delivered the critically and commercially successful 'Kaithi' starring Karthi and directing Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi in 'Thalapathy 64'. Lokesh had shared his delight on social media for the 25th day of 'Kaithi' thanking the media and the audience and a special thanks to the machine gun that Karthi uses in the climax although the director called it "Kosu marunthu machine" (Mosquito killer machine).

Rathnakumar the director of 'Meyaadha Maan' and 'Aadai' is a close friend of Lokesh and he has pulled his leg on Twitter asking if Vijay will be using a special weapon in 'Thalapathy 64' climax. It may be recalled that Rathnakumar is also the additional screenplay writer of the movie. As of the time of this writing, Lokesh Kanagaraj has not replied to his friend and revealed anything about the climax.

.'Thalapathy 64' with a music score by Anirudh has the dream cast of Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Gouri Kishan, Antony Varghese Pepe and Shantanu Bhagyaraj. Shooting is underway at different colleges.in Delhi for a month-long schedule.
