'Thalapathy 64' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is a multistarrer in the true sense pitting Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi against Thalapathy Vijay supported by Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Shantanu Bhagyaraj, Gouri Kishan, Brigida, VJ Ramya, Sriman, Chetan, Premkumar, Sanjeev, Srinath and a host of YouTube stars. Young Malayalam star Antony Varghese Pepe of 'Angamaley Diaries' fame was signed on to play an important negative role and was supposed to join the team in the upcoming Shimoga schedule.

It is now learned that Antony Varghese had to opt-out of 'Thalapathy 64' due to dates clash with his new Malayalam movie 'Ajajaganthram'. He has now been replaced with exciting young talent Arjun Das who gave a riveting performance as a ruthless gangster in 'Kaithi'.
