Team 'Thalapathy 64' after completing a month long shooting schedule under testing conditions in the pollution capital Delhi has returned home and will be starting another long one in Shimoga, Karnataka soon.  This schedule would be the most exciting as Thalapathy Vijay and Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi will be locking horns.  A major change had to be done as Malayalam star Antony Varghese opted out due to dates issues and Arjun Das who impressed with his intense antagonist role in 'Kaithi' has replaced him.

Arjun Das has posted this emotional statement "I've been speechless since the news hit. It is believed that if you wish for something with all your heart, then the entire universe conspires to make it happen for you..."To work with Vijay sir and Vijay Sethupathi sir is the ultimate aspiration. And for a newcomer like me, it is the greatest motivation. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for supporting me and for all the love you've showered on me since the release of Kaithi,"

'Thalapathy 64' directed by Lokesh Kangaraj and produced by XB Film Creators has music score by Anirudh and the ensemble cast of Vijay, Vijay Sethupathi, Shantanu Bhagyaraj, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Gouri Kishan, Brigida, Sriman, Sanjeev, Chetan, Srinath and Premkumar.  The release has been planned for Summer 2020.
