After Superstar Rajinikanth the hero with fans of all ages is Thalapathy Vijay. A leading Tamil weekly has reported that Vijay is currently acting as the hero in a story written for Rajini. After the stupendous success of 'Kabali' directed by Pa. Ranjith, Rajini is said to have listened to a story by A.R. Murugadoss and liked it very much and gave his nod. However since ARM was busy with Mahesh Babu's 'Spider' and he had to wait for a year the Superstar opted for Ranjith again to direct 'Kaala' which is running successfully now.

It is reported that A.R. Murugadoss narrated the same script to Vijay which is now being filmed as 'Thalapathy 62' produced by Sun Pictures. The story is said to have a strong political undercurrent with action and entertainment.
