Today marks the 104th birth anniversary of MGR one of the biggest superstars ever in Tamil cinema who went on to also become one of Tamil Nadu's most loved and successful Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu. Thousands of celebrities and fans of the late legend made a beeline to the MGR house in Ramapuram, Chennai to pay homage by garlanding his statue.

It is well known that the biopic of the late TN Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha is under production titled 'Thalaivi' with Kangana Ranaut in the title role and directed by A.L. Vijay. Arvind Swamy plays the character of MGR in the film.

The 'Thalaivi' team released a romantic photo of Arvind Swamy and Kangana Ranaut as MGR and Jayalalitha to commemorate the birth anniversary. G.V. Prakash is scoring the music for the multilingual film which is slated for release later this year.
