Superstar Rajinikanth's new year resolution seems to be signing several films. The good news is that he is not opting for the regular masala roles and is ready to experiment with different genres. Already he is on the verge of completing the shooting of the dark comedy 'Jailer' directed by Nelson and costarring Mohan Lal and Shivarajkumar.

Rajini's next after 'Jailer' is 'Laal Salaam' directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth in which he is playing a powerful supporting character while Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth play the lead roles. We already reported that director P. Vasu is in preproduction of what most probably will be 'Thalaivar 171'.

Now the hot news is that critically acclaimed director T.J. Gnanavel has also narrated a story to the longest standing Superstar in Indian cinema. It is said that Rajini like it so much that he has asked the director to develop it immediately and that he is ready to allot dates on a priority.

Gnanavel gained international fame through his most recent film 'Jai Bhim' that starred Lijomol Jose and Manikandan in the lead roles with Suriya who produced the film playing the powerful character of an advocate. We will have to wait and watch if Rajini opts for Vasu's film first or will go with Gnanavel.
