Red hot updates on Ajith’s role in Thala 61! - Exclusive

Thala Ajith completed the works for his upcoming biggie 'Valimai' directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. The action thriller, which also stars Hema Qureshi, Yogi Babu and Kartikeya, is slated for theatrical release on Pongal 2022.
The actor embarked on a road trip all over the country on his bike and photos from his journey have gone viral on the internet. It is already official that the Ultimate Star's next project will also be directed by Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. The shooting of the film is expected to begin in early 2022 with the working title 'Thala 61'.
This venture that marks the 61st movie of Thala Ajith marks his third collaboration with Vinoth and Boney after Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai. Now, the latest reports suggest that Ajith Kumar will be playing an out and out negative shade role in Thala 61. The star has played villain roles previously in several films like Vaali and Mankatha.
Thala is said to be donning an antagonist role after a decade in this yet-to-be-titled film. The makers are expected to announce the rest of the cast & crew after the Valimai release. Stay tuned for more updates.
